Following drawbacks being pointed out to KONE Elevator India Ltd in the Maintenance Contract for 2009 - 2011 by DIN CGHS Ltd on 29 Dec 2008, the Company promised to project the Society's requirements to their superiors in Chennai. On 3rd Jan 2009, Mr Lakhwara of KONE informed the Secretary of DIN CGHS Ltd that the Company had agreed to comply with most demands made by the Society except the 'insurance clause' where-in the Company was supposed take on the responsibility for on-site accidents during repairs. However, upon insistance of the Society Management, he agreed to come to the Society office on Sunday, 4th Jan 2009 to discuss the issues remaining.
On 4th Jan 2009, Mr Sudhir Lakhwara arrived in the Society office at 1145 hrs. Mr AK Malpani, President, Col RC Kapoor, Treasurer, Col Jagdish Madan, Secretary, Mr VS Nagar and Mr NN Srivastava were present to press on the Society's views. The discussions centered around the 'insurance' issue and it was agreed that KONE will be responsible for their own employees in cases of on-site accidents and will take every precaution to obviate possibility of injury to residents of the Scoiety, particularly curious children and domestic helps who venture close to the site of repairs.
Col RC Kapoor then made a final bid to have the yearly maintenance charges reduced by at least another five thousand Rupees. This was not agreed to by KONE representative. Finally, the contract was signed by the Secretary, the Treasurer and Mr Sudhir Lakhwara on behalf of the Society and the Company respectively.
The Contract rates fixed in the maintenance contract are appended below:
1. 2009 - Rs 2, 35, 000/-
2. 2010 - Rs 2, 35, 000/- Plus 4 %.
3. 2011 - An increase of 4% over rate charged for 2010.
