This Blog was created to provide members of DIN Cooperative Group Housing Society in Dwarka New Delhi, the basic information about the Society and its affairs. The information is by no means exhaustive and efforts to update it continue. We endeavor to usher in transparency and make information accessible to all members. Any comments / suggestions / corrections to the Blog are most welcome.
Wow the celebrations this time seem absolutely wonderful. The children look so bright and happy! The future of our country appears to be bright :).
ReplyDeletechoo cute! some of the kids are absolutely adorable!
ReplyDelete"The law of love could be best understood and learned through little children”. Mahatma Gandhi. It is wonderful to see all the children at Din shine so brightly. Thank you for your smiles and the joy you bring to our hearts.
ReplyDeleteThis is all show off by the MC. Why they dont permit children to play football in the society? They have spent thousands for this useless show.
ReplyDeleteGiving children an opportunity to shine and taking pride in our country's independence is not a waste of money. That said, there should be a collective agreement on how funds are spent.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any specific ideas? It should be obvious that playing any sort of game with a ball leads to breaking of car windows and has hurt older people in the past.
What solutions did you have in mind?
Btw, I looked up expenditures for Aug 2010. http://dinopeninfo.blogspot.com/2010/09/expenditure-for-month-of-august-2010.html and the expenditure on the last independence Day celebrations was about 14,000 rupees.
See, it is very easy to make complains, please suggest some solutions. I am sure any person who has the best interests of the community in mind will support good ideas. ... so what are your ideas?
Here are some ideas for giving children the opportunity to express their energy while at the same time maintaining safety of people and property:
ReplyDelete1. Create an enclosure such as this
http://www.sentinelfence.ca/Gallery/commbanner.jpg.pagespeed.ce.q_DSowv-wf.jpg where children can play.
2. Someone (maybe the person who was complaining) can take the initiative to create playing space in one of the many parks near the society. Many children can play there.
3. Teach children other games which they will enjoy and at the same time will not damage anyone such as kabaddi or Gallery. Will you volunteer to do this work :)?
4. Create facilities for indoor games or a gymnasium (we can start small). It can have parallel bars and light weights for boys to exercise.
5. Mark out a jogging/running track in the society where children can run and express physical energy.
6. Someone can start yoga or group fitness classes that interest young children and let them play there.
7. Make the roof sound proof, add a fence and create a big field for children to play (this will be expensive, but maybe we can start raising funds.
8. Members can volunteer time to clear that strip of land towards the back of the society and add fencing so children can play there.
9. We can gradually sensitize people to children's need for physical development through exercise.
See, at the end of the day, if we apply our minds, we can come up with any number of solutions. Children themselves can come up with solutions. If you have ideas, maybe you can post them here.
Apologies for the anonymity, I am concerned about online privacy. Please just think these comments are from someone who cares about the society. We can still carry the conversation forward :).
ReplyDeleteI like 7 too, and wonder what it would cost.
Maybe someone should host a brainstorming session and come up with some ideas.
